It’s All About the Passion!
Epicurean Foods was borne out of a passion for fine foods and fine wines. Phyllis and Greg knew they wanted to start their own business when they first met in M.B.A. school. Shortly after completing their degrees, they looked at many opportunities including purchasing existing “going concerns”. Late one night after making an offer for a well-run, well-priced juice distribution business, they both realized they weren’t sure they wanted to proceed with the purchase of this ‘sound’ opportunity.
Greg put it best when he said that for some unexplainable reason, it just didn’t feel right. Ironically, he said, “It just doesn’t pass the tummy test”. It was in the wee hours of the morning that the couple realized they needed to be passionate about whatever they did. They knew that if they enjoyed what they were doing, the success would come. Thus was borne EpicureanFoods.com.
Right from the start, the couple started developing high quality, great tasting products that “brought gourmet to everyday”. “Value was important to us, but so was making life easy for our customers. With each new child, our life has gotten busier. We don’t think that should mean we can’t continue to enjoy fine food (or fine wine!). In fact, after a very busy day including running a small business, catering to hockey, soccer, dance, etc, schedules, there is nothing more relaxing than enjoying a wonderful meal.
